The choice between heat and chemical comes down to timeline and how far the bugs have spread. A single infested bedroom caught early — bites on one sleeper, a few dark specks along the mattress piping — usually resolves with a chemical program: lower cost, but it requires 2–3 visits and real cooperation on prep, because eggs hatch after the first treatment and the follow-up visit is what ends the cycle. Whole-room or whole-home heat raises the air and contents to a lethal temperature and kills every life stage, including eggs, in one appointment.
